It is amazing to see the doors God continues to open to us. I am participating in a very significant global missions event:
Empowered 21 Global Congress, May 20-25, 2015, in Jerusalem. I am presenting a paper on Pentecostalism in Poland. The conference is held at the Jerusalem Arena. It is the largest Christian gathering in Jerusalem in modern history!
(I can’t believe I am here, in the land where Jesus lived, ministered, died, rose from the dead and ascended to Heaven…)
My paper reflects the origins and development of the Pentecostalism movement in Poland and its present/future prospects. I am one of several scholars representing various regions of the world. We each bring a different academic discipline and a regional perspective which shapes the potential and global impact of this spirit-filled movement.
The content of my paper will likely be included in a future volume on Pentecostalism in America and Europe.
For a Baptist pastor from Wroclaw, Poland, to be asked to speak at such a global event, is indeed humbling! However, many of you know that my doctoral thesis was done on a related subject: Transforming Mission in Post Communist Context: Towards an Integrative Approach. God laid this subject matter on my heart many years ago and it is the context of our Pastors2Pastors ministry.
Please be in prayer for me as I participate in the Jerusalem conference and as I am away from my family. In addition, Agnieszka is still recovering from surgery on her legs, so your prayers are coveted for her safety and healing of this medical situation.
